Six Degrees of Separation

We’ve laid the groundwork for Kai Chi Do to go wide, and we’re seeking invitations to bring Kai Chi Do to large groups.  Our experience has taught us that the only way to receive these invitations is through our relationships.  For example, it was our dear friend Howard Makler who got us invited to Bhaktifest years ago.  He knew the organizers of the festival and specifically asked them to bring Kai Chi Do to their participants – and it was a blast for all of us, especially when they gave Kai Chi Do the space around the pool!

Have you heard of the “small world study” in 1967? You may not know of the study but you’ve probably heard of six degrees of separation  Study participants were assigned the task of getting a folder to a specific Alice.  It was a study of the strength of social networks (before the internet).  Just how far apart are any two people?  Social psychologist Stanley Milgram found that the average number of social connections it took to get the package to Alice was – yes, you guessed it – six!  According to Milgram, people are an average of six degrees of separation from anybody else.  Then of course there was the Kevin Bacon variation, when a group of college students tried to prove that Kevin Bacon could be connected to every other actor in the entertainment industry by no more than six degrees of separation.  You get the idea.

That’s basically what we’re looking for.  Who do you know, who knows somebody, who knows somebody, that would invite Kai Chi Do to engage a large group?  We’re ready.  The world is in such need of unity, the need to set aside the stories and opinions that divide us.  We help people let go of their fears and worries and self-doubt and struggles, even if it’s only for an hour, and experience the feeling of peace.  That is some powerful medicine.  And the world needs it.

Who do you know, who knows somebody, who knows somebody, that would invite Kai Chi Do to engage a large group?  Tedx conference?  Yoga festival?  YogaWorks Hollywood? Retreat center? Omega Institute? Esalen Institute? Music festival?  Musician open to a collaboration engaging the audience in Kai Chi Do?  Qi Gong group?  Martial Arts event – where we can offer this beautiful non-martial art?  Please talk with your friends, and friends of friends, and ask them to Contact Us.  We’re only six degrees of separation from bringing Kai Chi Do to more of this hungry world.

Thank you!  And Blessings!
